Debonair Campground Celebrated 25 Years!

What started out 25 years ago has steadily grown into a lavish family camping park far exceeding anyone’s expectations. JP and Agnes Gosselin, owners and founders of Debonair Campground, welcome visitors from late April to mid-October attracting several thousand tourists every year to the St. Malo Region, in South Eastern Manitoba.

"Today’s camping scene is much different than it was 25 years ago" stated the Gosselin’s. People’s expectations have increased and so has the size of the RV’s. "Today’s campers have the desire to be with nature but not without modern amenities" adds Agnes Gosselin. Debonair guests can unwind in the jetted hot tub and young families can frolic around on the tropical beach park, all within a short stroll of their personalized camping sites.

With camping trends maturing over the past 25 years, Debonair Campground has responded to their customers needs. The evolution to seasonal camping has resulted in Debonair Campground growing to 155 seasonal sites and 45 designated overnight sites which range from basic to fully serviced. The benefits of seasonal camping are reflected in Debonair’s 100% occupancy rates and waiting lists. With the increasing price of gas, the expansion of RV units and convenience site size, and the confidence knowing you don’t have to reserve, pay reservation fees and rush out on Friday’s, seasonal camping has become the "en vogue" camping style. On site camper delivery, onsite winter storage, and renewable seasonal leases are also added benefits.

Debonair Campground, an active member of the St. Malo & District Chamber of Commerce as well as the Manitoba Association of Campgrounds and Parks (MACAP), is located 40 miles south of Winnipeg in the Rural Municipality of De Salaberry. "We are excited to help JP and Agnes celebrate their 25 years of business" adds the Economic Development Officer of the Rural Municipality of De Salaberry. "JP and Agnes’ dedication to running a welcoming and FUN destination not only helps their customers; it inspires them to shop locally and take part in the local community events. Their 25 Years of Service not only has an economic impact on our community – it enhances our joie de vivre!"

"We are proud to say our seasonal campers feel they are part of the St. Malo community. We are also very grateful to our customers, employees, friends and family who have helped us get us here" commented JP and Agnes Gosselin. To commemorate their 25 years in business, they have planned a line of fun events through the season.
